Several researchers in the Joint Center for Quantum Information and Computer Science (QuICS)—one of 16 centers and labs in UMIACS—were featured in a story on quantum information science published in the Diamondback student newspaper.
The researchers discussed the application of quantum information science to physics.
“We want to see how that is enabling us to ask new questions about the nature of black holes, the fabric of space time and other very deep questions in physics,” said Carl Williams, a scientist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology who is also a Fellow in QuICS.
