Biography: 

Thomas Goldstein is a professor of computer science with an appointment in the University of Maryland Institute for Advanced Computer Studies. He is director of the University of Maryland Center for Machine Learning.

Goldstein’s research intersects machine learning and optimization, focusing on applications in computer vision and signal processing. He designs optimization methods for various platforms, from powerful cloud computing environments to resource-limited integrated circuits and field programmable gate arrays.
